A great barrier to entering any sales job is the prospect of having to prospect. Most people can envision the riches that come alongside a successful sales career, but cannot imagine going through the tedious process of qualifying their suspects, prospecting, rapport-building and eventually making the sale. And the most daunting challenge is facing rejection in various points of this whole process.

That's why the Zig Zaglers, Dale Carnegies and Anthony Robbins of the world are so successful. They drip wisdom from having overcome much in life - and inspiring others who want to do the same.

However, people prospect all the time though they may or may not realise it. We prospect for our life partners, we prospect for friends, we prospect for people to convert to our cause / association / clubs / charities / political parties etc. We 'sell' our ideas to others all the time to reap tangible or intangible benefits.

What are we prospecting for? Are we effective in our prospecting? Who are we selling to? What do we sell? Here lies the questions - the answers of which are keys to discovering our purpose(s) in life.
