The above phrase has been so popularised by that Dawson character in the movie Titanic that whenever it's spoken, EVERYBODY knows it refers to the ultimate sentence that saved the Rose character from an icy death.

And whenever it's quoted, I wince. Finally there's a completely comprehensible sentence that our beloved ah-lians and ah-bengs can speak from memory. How about changing the script to, "If you jump into the icy waters below, I will jump along with you."

Yes, while we're at it, delete "I am flying! I am flying!" as well. It's so bimbotic. Why not get her to simply quote Sigmund Freud? After all, she's portrayed as quick-witted at the beginning of the movie.

At this point, I must confess something. I've booked my first cruise holiday for Stickman and myself. Oh, plus my parents as well. Being a mountain tortoise, I didn't know that 4-to-go meant 4 people squeezed in a tiny claustrophobic bunk. So banish the idea of 'Love Boat'.

To add to that, I'm a stingy (thrifty) mountain tortoise, so our bunk's below sea level without a porthole! Not the lowest class lah, but middle-low class, cos cheap tickets sold out. Which incidentally sparked off the whole thing about Titanic - my dad turned to my mom, "What if end up like Titanic? We low-class bunk will die."

To which my mom quickly answered, "You navy diver. You swim and save me lor."

Hip, hip hurray!
