HI I'M BACK! Been so tired these days that I was sprouting gibberish in my previous post. Have changed some words that I had written in a state of semi-consciousness.

Stickman has been so sweet these few days that it reminds me of the saddest romantic story ever told to me .. sob sob :-

Once upon a time... a girl and a boy were madly in love in Johore, Malaysia. However, the boy's parents decided to send him over to Singapore to study in NUS. The girl, however, came from a poor family, and could not afford even to pay for a bus ride across the Causeway. In any case, she couldn't read or write and didn't have a phone. So they faced a tough period in their relationship.

The boy brought the girl to a park beside the ocean on the day he was about to leave.
"Please wait for me. I'll be back in back in 3 years at this exact date and time. Then we'll get married!"

He gave her a ring with a small orb that he fashioned from dried UHU glue and copper wire. The girl was immensely touched. She nodded vigorously, staring at the ring in her hands.

They decided to part there so that they can meet there again in 3 years' time.

3 years went by, and at the exact date and time, the girl appeared at the park. She had grown more beautiful and was wearing her most presentable frock. Not a day had passed where she did not think about the boy. She was anxious to see him honour his promise of marrying her. There was, however, no sign of the boy.

An hour passed. She grew anxious as the minutes passed. Had he forgotten the date? Or was it something worse... did he forget her?

Another hour ticked by. Her face was downcast. She took off the copper ring and stared morosely at it.

When 2 hours and 59 minutes went by, she was sobbing uncontrollably. The copper ring caught the sun's dying rays and it caught her attention. In a rage, she took it off and threw it into the ocean! Looking around her for the last time, she turned and stormed off.

Fate had it that the boy was just approaching the beach spot at the same instant. From the opposite direction. They missed one another by a mere minute. The boy was panting and his shirt was drenched in sweat. He had put on a lot of weight but had run all the way from the bus stop, knowing he was late.

Bus 170 had broken down on the causeway, causing him to be late for their appointed meeting. She would wait if she loved him, he thought. But he was sad when there was noone at the spot. Perhaps she was late too, he consoled himself optimistically.

To cut the long story short (Stickman wants to use this laptop), he waited another 3 hours before he called it quits. He couldn't believe she had not turned up. She must have decided not to wait, he reasoned.

He decided life was not worth living. His parents only cared about how he performed in school. His girlfriend had forgotten all about him! He has lost his youth and his figure! Nobody cared about who he really was deep inside! He decided to end it all!

He decided to jump into the sea to drown himself, for he could not swim. He took one last look at the ocean. Suddenly he saw something that made him very very sad, the saddest he had ever felt.
