The feeling of embarking on yet another direction is one of excitement. I'm certain that every change shifts me nearer to my dream.

I still remember once, in a faraway time when I was in my previous employment, teachers took over a section of morning assembly to blurt out something inspiring to start the day. I remember someone talking about funeral speeches. What will your loved ones say about you? [Just like the TV-ad : If your life were a movie, ... (will it stink?)] I suppose this is a way to decide if your life is headed in the right direction. The irony is, we do have a lot of control in how our funeral speech would turn out - but do we realise it?

Even if people do know what they want out of life, I think the scariest part is the fear of the unknown. The fear of losing one's security blanket. The fear of opportunity costs; sacrifices; repercussions. I imagine "I-told-you-so"s, "how could you"s from loved ones. Fear of failure and regret cripples, but an exciting life is made of challenges like these.

Anyway, digressing a little, part of that paradigm shift would entail the decision to have a child. I coin it Project Stickbaby. Stickbaby should preferably be a Stickboy with huge adorable eyes, though twins are more than welcome. To prepare for Stickbaby, helpful mommie-friends have advised me to consume folic acid and to just remain relaxed. I've also started stocking up on potential maternity wear, eg. those empire dresses. I bought my first preggy-test kit too. Stickman and I have also signed up for an extensive health check-up at SGH.

I hope to report a clean bill of health for the both of us at the end of the month.
