Once, long ago, I read a storybook about a girl. She didn't come from a good background. And she had a younger brother to protect from the other children. To this end, she learnt how to fight. And she made sure she won her fights.

Then, I'll always remember this quote, as the other children cowered before her, she said, "The scariest part was not in knowing that you were afraid of them, but in knowing that they were afraid of you."

It doesn't make sense. But sense doesn't always have a part to play in feelings.
